I am the type of person who, when reading, could have a bomb go off next to them and I would flick the dust from the page and find better lighting.
One of my best parenting accomplishments has been that my kids will interrupt my reading by saying, “Hey Stac/Mom, I realize you’re reading but [insert teen boy request here].” I’m so glad that they recognize reading as an activity that is a priority for me, rather than assuming that I can put down the book and fulfill their need. Let’s be honest. There are books that cannot be put down.
My other best parenting accomplishment involves diapers and that’s a story for a different blog entirely.
Protect the reading bubble this weekend!
