The scene, Labor Day weekend.
We’ve been laboring through the weekend on wedding-related things…everything from addressing wedding invitations to caravaning home from picking his motorcycle up from his sister’s house and trying to get the regular weekend life stuff done too like laundry and grocery shopping.
Come Sunday night, we were ready to kick back, but I wasn’t in the mood for more “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Thumbing through Netflix, we stumbled on this gem: Hector and the Search for Happiness.
The plot is fairly simple: Hector, a psychiatrist, isn’t sure he knows what happiness is in his hum-drum life and isn’t sure he can help his patients. So, he takes off on a globe-spanning journey to find what makes people happy.
The movie was everything we wanted that evening. We laughed. We cried. We thought about the things that made us happy.
Definitely worth the watch if you are looking for a feel-good-end-of-summer movie.
