I am not a fan of Stephen King. Never have been.
Yes, I’ve been told to read the Gun Slinger, that’s it is nothing like what I’m thinking. Haven’t been interested. I tried Carrie when I was grade school; who didn’t, right? I found it equal parts ridiculous and terrifying.
And now, I have found a title that I’m pretty tempted to get: Under the Dome.
It came through an unexpected source who I admire very much. In fact, it was so different than what that source usually recommends, that I am compelled to get the book from the library, just to see if it is something that I may be interested in. I might have overlooked something in the King files.
Then the clincher came: It is over 1,000 pages.
I love Fat Books. Most novels max out between 350 and 425 pages. That’s part of why I am addicted to series. It is more like a continuation rather than a new book. A single title that tops 1,000 pages? It sounds too good to be true.
Check out the cover. It’s gorgeous. And the third reason for reading this book.

You really should read his “Eye of the Dragon” and “Gunslinger.” I never made it past bk1 of “Gunslinger” but I thoroughly enjoyed that one. And Dragon is top-notch fantasy. I’m looking forward to your review of this one because I’ve been tempted by it too.
I’ve read it. (No spoilers ahead.) I ended up skimming from about 1/3 of the way through until the end. The beginning and end are really good. I’m not a fan of the villain(s). Just thought you might want to know. I’m not a big SK fan, either, to be honest. I prefer some of the older Dean Koontz titles. Have you read “Fear Nothing” and “Seize the Night”? Those were great.
